is there a reliable custom bbc code to deal with all kinds of youtube videos, including those with "uk" or "ca" in the url? would it also handle the "http://youtube" and "http://www.youtube" problem?

I converted from 2.x to 3.0 and had a table bbccode mod that used these tags to align columns with tabbed spaces:

Code: Select all

[pre][/pre]
Is this or another table bbcode available for the gold release?

IMDB BBCode request...
I'd like an IMDB BBCode which would automatically display the trailer/teaser on my forum...

So I'd use:

Code: Select all

[imdb]video url here[/imdb]
and it would display the trailer
the video url should be the one which is given by IMDB itself, like:

Code: Select all

http://www.imdb.com/video/trailer/me60407838/
I don't know if it's possible to create this BBCode?

OK I have a silly question can you use the bbcode outside of this message area and input it in other areas of the forum lets say the footer page to display lets say a youtube vid or whatever?

No, you would just use regular HTML for that, i.e. the code provided by the youtube video's page, into overall_footer.html

The Flash BBCode of my User Group is off.
How can I make it turn on to their accounts?

I just successfully upgraded from phpBB 2.0.22 to 3.0 .

On the index page of phpBB 2.0.22 I had descriptions of forums that included a hyperlink to the forum.
For example:
This combination of BBCode & HTML is no longer working. What I want is for someone to click on the link and have the tutorial open in a new web page. Is this possible?

I've tried all sorts of variations, to include
For participants of the Communication Skills Tutorial for Police Officers—(free - registration required)
but none have worked.

Tip please,

Thanks,

Update: I followed the Knowledge Base instructions, mentioned elsewhere in this thread and the URL links within posts now open in a new window. Also, after I made the changes Communication Skills Tutorial for Police opens in a new window using links from within forum description fields such http://www.comcom121.org/forums/index.php

I hope I am posting this in the correct forum/thread. Is it possible to create a BBCode that would wrap text around an image?

Here is my thinking. As of course you know, in "ordinary" HTML/CSS, this code does that --

Code: Select all

<span style="float: right;"><img src="http://..../name.gif"></span>
.

So, I wonder if I could create a Button called, let's say, "IMG Right" with these settings:

ACP>Posting>BBCodes

Code: Select all

[img]{IMG}[/img]
and at ACP>Posting>HTML Replacement

Code: Select all

<span style="float: right;">{IMG}</span>
Update: I tried that, and got the message that the BBCode already existed, which I took to be a reference to the IMG button which also calls

Code: Select all

[img]{IMG}[/img]
So, I tried again using

Code: Select all

 [float]{IMG}[/float]

and that just reproduced the code and the URL in the post (that is, it did nothing). I also tried it with URL in place of IMG and that did the same, for example:
time for all good men [float]http://www.myside.com/images/hawk.gif[/float] Now is the time
Am I doing it incorreclty or am I trying to accomplish the impossible?
