Thanks for the Ext!

Can you tell if it is possible to make a setting for this in UCP? Some users would like to individually opt out of this functionality even if it is enabled on the board...

Extension has been updated to allow users to choose or not to have external links open in a new window. To update, disable the extension in the ACP, delete the data. download the extension from github and overwrite all files and directories in the /ext/rmcgirr83/elonw directory. Re-enable the extension and done.

Almost does what I want, but: Doesn't work when used in ACP, Forums, Forum Link (least not for me).
Works as advertised in post, again a but: Is there a way to narrow your definition of an "external" link? i.e., I would like any link outside of the phpBB home folder to be considered "external".
In my case, I need to link to an app that is in my domain but outside of the phpBB folder.
Example: Forum is located in http://www.mysite.net/myforum. In my Board index I want have a Forum Link that points to http://www.mysite.net/myapp.
I have tested this in a normal post and if I link to http://www.mysite.net/myapp the window opens in the same tab. If I link to http://www.othersite.net/anypage the window will open new. I have considered purchasing http://www.mysite.com and redirecting that to my intended target, but before I do that... is there code that can be modified to overcome this issue? Is there code that the ACP Forum Link that can be changed to make that work (that would be my first choice in a fix)?

External links are defined as external to your domain.

No, I don't plan on doing that. If you want to open the link in a new tab, right click on the link and open in a new tab.

The purpose of this extension is to make it easier on your users as well as not have them redirected from your site.

If the forum link is to an external source then the extension applies onclick to the link. I just tested it and confirmed that it does, indeed, do this.

Hi,
When I check the extension version in the admin CP I don't get any notice - whether it is up to date or not.
Is there an option to add this to the extension?

Thanks

Strange... does not do a new window when I set link to phpbb.com... oh well... I'll find another way.
Ah... just found what I was doing wrong... I was trying to use Subforum Forum Link.

thanks...EOT
