Hi martti,

I have been trying to follow the 3.1.6 problems, but still have not updated my test site.

you stated when you replied to KillBill
martti wrote:Can not be validated
so my question, is this extension still in the validation process?

I believe martti had said no. He presented a working alternative here:

martti has replied this about the Idea change ext code submitted by KillBill not for the workaround proposed by martti.

It's good that there is a workaround for this great extension!
And I really hope that the extension can be fixed in due time
Because this extension is really needed now that phpBB asks us not to change the core files.
Actually this needs to be integrated in standard phpBB! :D

But ok, the workaround is working great for the moment.
I just miss something.. There should be a way to add custom language code :)

I added some custom html scripts on my forum, but I have 2 languages installed ( Dutch and English )
So I have added language codes in /language/nl/common.php and /language/en/common.php
I tried to add a new language file ( /language/nl/newfile.php ) but that's not working..
file is not being read.. don't know why :D

I understand there is workaround, but have not seen or heard of a new release candidate. so I ask again is this release candidate still in validation or will it need to be resubmitted?

I’m french, in my navbar i use those conditions for the texts in english & french of icons:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_USER_LANG eq 'fr' -->Aide<!-- ELSE -->Help<!-- ENDIF -->
I don’t know if this can help you.

from reading the posts here, I surmise that it can not be resubmitted because the whole system no longer works with the update to 3.1.6

also, as far as I know, it has not been in the validation que for a while anyway. it has remained in development stage for quite some time.

I use this on 4 forums to deliver custom content in specific locations. This one of the most useful extensions I have ever seen and it's a real shame that future development isn't going to happen

I agree this is the best extension out there. but I would not jump to any conclusions, we still have not heard from martti.

and who knows phpbb core files might be in error here. who validates those files? If they were perfect they would not need to update the core files ever.

I won't be updating to 3.1.6 on my two board because of this.

We can't do without, I'd rather wait then trying the workarounds.
