If a forum post is edited without an "edited by message" displayed in the post - should it not be excluded from being dragged into chat. In other words, only posts displaying an "edited by message" gets dragged in chat.

Reason being. Admins can silent edit posts without leaving an edited by message in the post afterwards, but then chat gives it away they did edited the post if dragged in chatroom. Kind of defeats the silent edit feature if using that option with chat. Members are also given a time frame to edit a post before showing edited by in it, but chat still dragged it into it before that edited by message might get displayed (they edited post in time-frame allowed) before showing it.

So would if not be better if only posts "displaying an edited by" message in them gets dragged in chat. That would then cover both silent edits admin might make, also stop chat dragging in edited posts before a members time-limit to edit posts expires

I have a bug report and a request for help extending mChat.

In the extension configuration, "Index page message limit" doesn't seem to do anything. No matter what number I enter there, after submitting the field becomes blank. The index page always shows every chat message from the beginning.
This must work

Sorry - my bad. I was using the database from the old version and it looks like it didn't have the "message_num" config value. I added that to the DB and it works now.

So, any pointers on what I'd need to tweak to get mChat to work on pages other than index.php? I'm just getting the text "Enable mChat Extension".

Edit: Also, you do have an actual bug in acp_mchat.html. On line 53, you have <label for="mchat_index_height"> when it should be <label for="mchat_message_num"> .

You have to refresh your browser to reload the js file. That's WTF.

Hello are you set up this option in your Mchat :

View new messages :
Put Yes to allow the new topics to be displayed in the mini -chat .
You must have installed the add-on notification of new messages (found in the directory "contrib" archive MOD )

Thank you ...

Install version 0.0.9. This will give you that option.

You need to disable the extension, and delete its data, remove the files from your web ftp, re-upload the new ones and enable.

Great extension! But why supermoderators now have access to admin-panel, to mChat configuration? How remove this access? Version 0.0.9

Well I purged the cache, deleted all the cookies and then it stopps. But the next time I come back it starts to fart again. Or is the .js file somewhere else?

Refresh the browser has nothing to do with forum cookies or with purging the cache on the forum. It has to do with the browsers cache and is usually accomplished by CTRL + F5
