If the first is set to No, the last two don't work, i.e. if a user isn't allowed to use BBCodes, he can't use [flash] or [img] either. Makes sense. :P I think mChat should handle it the same way, ...
Sure, makes sense, but in that case I'd suggest wording it like in phpBB as well, i.e. "can use
tag" and "can use [url] tag. I sure was confused by it :)

Especially when they do it for free.

I can't reproduce this. When I quote the message {quote} :) {/quote} the smiley still works. Can you give another example?
Strange, I tried now and I also can't. It happend on a forum that I helped update and then their admins installed many more extensions (some of them are now gone*). Probably some of them interfered with mchat.
So, false alarm then.

This definitely makes sense for the "Can use [url] BBCode tag" permission. However, the "Can quote messages" permission is different as it controls the display of the quote icon next to each message. When this permission is set to no, a user can still use the quote BBCode.

Thanks. ;) These are the adjustments that make smilies and BBCodes work again on my end, give it a try:
    1. Open /ext/dmzx/mchat/styles/prosilver/theme/mchat.css
    2. At the bottom, add this rule:
    3. Code: Select all

      #mchat-panel #st_editor_buttons {
          display: block !important;
      }
    1. Go to /ext/dmzx/mchat/styles and create the subfolders canvas/template/event
    2. In the event folder, create an empty file overall_footer_after.html
    3. Add this content:

      Code: Select all

      <!-- IF MCHAT_ALLOW_USE -->
      	<script>$.sceditor = false;</script>
      <!-- ENDIF -->

  1. Refresh board cache.

Worked perfectly well. Here's how I integrated the mchat:

Gotcha, I hadn't thought of that. Once you know what all these do it's not really a problem anymore :)

Hi, I'm using phpbb 3.1.8 - prosilver. Can I insert the chat on a separate page from my forum? I want this because it's not intended for regular members ;)

Thanks!

Set the "Can view mChat" permission to No for all users you don't want to be able to see mChat. It doesn't matter if you display mChat on the index page or use the custom page (or both): users who don't have the "Can view mChat" permission won't even know you have mChat installed.

Hello,

Any chance of getting the Spanish language pack for the latest version?

With my anticipated thanks,

Henry

Request

Post by Darloup » Sat Apr 23, 2016 3:27 am

Hello and many thanks to everybody who worked on this wonderful extension!

A request, please, which I think would add a lot to this extension :roll:

Would it be possible that mchat would show a message each and every time a member logs on the forum?

Thus, with the visual message on mchat coupled with the audible warning, it would be easily possible to chat immediately with somebody as soon as s/he logs on the forum... I mean, we would know immediately who is present on the forum!

What do you think?

Regards,

Henry
