Can I set it to default to messages appearing at the bottom? I don't see many takers for the way it works now.

Yes, there is a setting to have last messages displayed top/bottom.

Thanks a lot. Had to delete the whole extension and SQL to start again, but it's working now.

Oh, just found a minor bug with the mchat tab in the UCP. For some reason the extension isn't adding the 'UCP_CAT_MCHAT' entry so the tab reads 'UCP_CAT_MCHAT'. I've fixed this for my forum, but it would be good to have it fixed in the next update too.

You most likely didn't uninstall the MOD properly before installing the extension.

Button without a window please

Post by Freaudeau » Sat Aug 06, 2016 8:19 pm

LOVE this extension - one of the best I have come across! Thank you for the amount of work you have put into it!

One question though: The mChat window is rather prominent on the index page of our forum. Just the button in the navbar would be fine. I know you can change this in the UCP but new users won't know that of course. For them it is like they have landed on a chat site with a forum added and not the other way around.

Is it possible to remove the chat window from the index page?

Regards,

Freaudeau

If you set shoutbox not to appear on forum index via Admin Panel (under shoutbox extension settings), it won't show up on forum index page for anyone by default "like you want" - but any user can still display it there via their profile UCP settings.

To be precise, in ACP -> Extensions -> mChat -> Global user settings you can set the default UCP settings for future users. You can overwrite the settings for all existing users with the Overwrite settings for all users setting at the bottom of that page. You can overwrite settings for a single existing user in the Preferences section in ACP -> Users & Groups -> Manage users.

Hi, I'm curious what "fix the position of pbtech" means in the rc5 release?

We have an old version here, which sits on the side how we like.

http://unrealau.net/

But I did a new install tonight and it's on the top (or bottom), I can't seem to get it on the side?

http://www.junglewraiths.net/

Is it easy to change between the two? I note the recent topics extension has a choice for side.
