the version on the test website looks very promising !
Looks very stable already.

Btw where do you store all the chat history? In a new table ?

getting closer. there will be an ACP module for setting refresh time and to turn chat off. not sure if i will be putting in any permissions or not at this point. still having an issue with the auto update of the messages when they get submitted. the two of us that are working on this also have regular jobs and families so some days we don't even get to work on it

there's only 1 table that contains the chat messages.

Hi SpaceAce,

I too am looking forward to your extension and its possibilities. Sorry I am not a coder so not going to be able to assist, however, as a fellow Ontarian, I am cheering you on. 8-) :ugeek: 8-) Ajax??? Nice coincidence  But hopefully you live somewhere less industrial :D

I have one question which from reading through this topic I may have missed the answer to. I see that you have the option in the UCP to allow users to display or not display the chat window. Can this be overridden so that it is a mandatory item (sorta like the "Over-ride users Style" option in Board Preferences of the ACP)? I would be interested in making this a permanent item on the index page.

Thanks again and kudos for all your hard work and effort.

SW Ontario near London ;)

the UCP options are geared toward the end user with no ACP override. but, it is very simple to remove the option :D by default, all the options are enabled so removing the option from the UCP will not make it go away but they will be unable to change it
