Extension Name:Google Search
Author: HiFiKabin

Extension Description: Adds a responsive Google Search box to your Forum. The Admin can choose whether the search appears in the Header or Navbar. The Extension is supplied with a "search the whole web" Google Search Engine ID, which can be replaced with your own custom ID if you wish. The results are shown in a Forum page.

Automatic rtl switching included.

An error message is displayed if JavaScript disabled or Google blacklisted

Language: AR, EN, ET

Additional Language Packs: ES Language pack available HERE

Requirements: phpBB 3.1.4 or later

Supported Styles:
  • Prosilver
It has also been tested with:-
  • Prosilver SE
  • Elegance
  • AllanStyle-SUBSILVER
Versions for other Styles Extension Version: 2.5.0_rc1
  • If you are updating from 2.0.0 or earlier please delete data BEFORE proceeding

Installation:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Copy the folder hifikabin to the ext folder e.g: root/ext and enable it in the ACP
Notes:
  • 2.5.0 is a visual match to my NavBar Search Extension 1.0.9
  • How do I get my Google Custom Code? Click Here
  • JavaScript must be enabled and Google Whitelisted else the results will not show
  • If you want to revert to the default search, use this Google Search Engine ID 014009256459669723404:h-jorqudbre

Any way to implement that adsense search? Like the one on phpbb.com?

I 'think' for adsense search you will need to use viewtopic.php?f=456&t=2275361

You could replace MY FORUM with BOARD_URL. No need for manual editing then. BOARD_URL is a template variable already provided by the core.

bad, not optimal place for search.
best place - add google to forum search.

Cheers Martti. After I had uploaded it, I wondered if it would work that way. I'll go and redo it now

there should be google logo with the search so that user can identify between google and forum search bars

Removed the need to edit the file

Update from previous version:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Disable Google Search in the ACP
  • Delete googlesearch folder from the server
  • Upload the the folder googlesearch to root/ext/hifikabin/
  • Enable it in the ACP

v 1.2.0 now available.

Moved Search Box to Breadcrumbs and added Google in the search box. The Ext also now uses default language variables.

Update from previous version:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Disable Google Search in the ACP
  • Delete googlesearch folder from the server
  • Upload the the folder googlesearch to root/ext/hifikabin/
  • Enable it in the ACP

maybe have option to replace location of google search at default search instead on breadcrumbs menu

note not all like to use g**gle search so how it is right now is ok (for me)
