Nope, disagree : i actually need to make the sync with the previous version to allow me to retrieve my users from my previous install, so I'll probably make a "one-time-run", either tool or process or condition to reuse the previous configuration(id) in WP containing the association ID to avoid to loose article ownership.
Plus, I'm waiting for 3.1.7 to have the events to reupdate the users' group when it's changed (added/removed) :)

I might fork, I want to see this functionality happen when a PHPBB user accesses the WP page. In the case where you have 20,000 or more PHPBB users, it doesn't make sense to synch them all.

I like it to be done in real time.

Good luck!

OK for me.
The issue of user names appears resolved.
I await the next release,
Good luck

The logic isn't that much different, you may want to plug into the file wpphpbbunicorn, on "start_integration" stuff to create the user first

Elsewhat, we could make a switch to say "don't use default role when not defined" to avoid sync of users you dont want, which doesn't have a specified role. A "strict" mode let's say :)
Forking is nice, collaborative codebase is better :D

I am happy to collaborate.

I am running into the timeout issue again when I am trying to import users. Maybe the script can have a breakpoint every 15 seconds to update the user with some information "X users processed" and then continue?

I don't really know yet how to do that, but i agree it's definitally necessary (as most board admin may not have access to increase php's buffer)
On my todolist :)

But maybe we can work on getting the real time users to integrate.

IF you look at the situation, if a user is accessing your forum and blog, that is an active user and should be integrated.

If a forum user never visit the blog then what is the point of integrating him? :) The moment that he does visit the blog then the script would add him to Wordpress. It's a lot less overhead when you have over 20,000 users ,right?

It may, however, it put your application in an "unstable" state, where users are sometimes created and sometimes not, so that you need to "store" every configuration and rerun it every time :
In the case you want to create OTG (on the go) the users, i'd put it in the WP plugin side, because that's where the (potentially new) user lands.
One of those scenario is when you want to ban an user from accessing the blog, you may ban an user that doesn't even exists yet, which is weird.
Another scenario is Wordpress plugin : by using the full synchro, you can use the wordpress plugin (mailing to mailchimp for example) which extend your capacities of connectivity of your userbase
In the end, it requieres double the effort because you need to duplicate all the workflow of synchronization from the phpbb side to the wordpress side, whereas my goal was to avoid this now that we have events to which we can listen to (which is smarter in the long run)
The only drawback is see so far is the long, long initial setup for users, in which i need to work on to disply something while it's working in the background :)
Eventually, it may have an impact on WP performance?
Feel free to counter-argumentate, I don't bite ;)

Just put the path for the first line. LIke this:

/home/tormentu/public_html/foro/

Second line should be a URL, not a path.

Hello ^^ how i said in my last post, i fixed the problem with the path and now i have some new problem.

The problem is with the connection. I'll try explain because is extrange.

When i'm logged via wordpress (without bridge) and later active the plugin all see that work (i can see the user widget working) even i can logout works in both sides (wp-phpbb).

Now when i try login (with the plugin activated) via the User Widget now i have a error in my forum:

General Error
Tried to redirect a potentially unsafe URL.

Later in my forum i'm "logged", but when i go to my wp im not logged. :|

I have all time the error when i try even logging even for "www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin".

¿any idea because this is happening?.

I'd assume it's related to the url you provided.
Is your blog and your forum on the same domain?
