I tested posting a message in my forum (you cannot see it, it is in private part).
With BB code Amazon i see link:
Is the &tag= appended to the URL? I mean after you click on it and follow the link. Did you clear the cache after enabling the extension?

Does anyone here know all the Amazon top level domain name extensions that they use?

.com
.co.uk
.ca

etc.

;)

I installed extension one week ago. Yes cache has been cleared.
I gave the links with bbcode not using extension and link obtained with extension in my previous post.

The url you linked to is appended by other things as well, so this extension strips the code but can't add it.

If you have:-

www.amazon.fr/dp/B004WP1V8Y/ref=as_sl_pd_tf_lc?tag=my-affiliate-code

this ext will strip my-affiliate-code and add the one in the configuration page.

The affiliate code needs to be the final part of the url

Sorry HiFiKabin. I don't understand well (because of my bad english).
Using your extension, I thought in link I could see my affiliate code - as I do with bbcode.

If I use bbcode I see in the link:
AssociateTag=myidentity
With extension:
AssociateTag=_&ASIN.1=B004WP1V8Y&Quantity.1
Maybe my identity is transformed in B004WP1V8Y?
Sorry if I say stupid things. :oops:

I have taken a screenshot of my test forum that might help you.

I have put www.amazon.fr/dp/B004WP1V8Y/ref=as_sl_pd_tf_lc?tag=my-affiliate-code in the post

Image

... and as you can see, it is displayed as it is posted, however if you look at the 'on mouseover' link you will see that my-affiliate-code has been stripped and AFFILIATE added

The posted link is not physically changed but when it if hovered over or clicked the new code is added.

It is very difficult to explain things in a language that is not your own. I am just grateful that your English is better than my French.

... and I have just tested the long link you posted earlier with the new version I am working on, and that one will strip the code

The new version should be available some time next week (with luck)

Thanks HiFiKabin.
Well...let's say everything is ok :D
Anyway, unfortunately, very very few people buy amazon articles from my site and my board :(

1.0.0_rc5 Strips any existing Affiliate code before adding yours. Can be configured for different Affiliate Codes for different Amazon TLD's

Update from previous version:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Disable Amazon Affiliate in the ACP
  • Delete amazonaffiliate folder from the server
  • Upload the the folder hifikabin to root/ext/ and enable it in the ACP

I do not see any difference, except for new lines amazon sites.
In ACP I inserted my affiliate ID in amazon.fr.

Where can I see added affiliate code?

Code: Select all

http://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0025HX99K/ref=as_sl_pd_tf_lc?tag=_&camp=1414&creative=6410&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B0025HX99K&adid=0QPWMT9BJ0GJQYBPC0ME&&ref-refURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bulgaria-france.net%2Fsalon%2Fviewtopic.php%3Ff%3D76%26t%3D7575%26p%3D61398
This is real link - I don't think it's dangerous to show it :mrgreen:

Hi there, I just installed this and when I post an amazon link, it leaves the spot totally blank. No Amazon link, nothing. So then I disabled it and its still doing the same thing if I try and post a link. Not sure what else to do. :(

The extension doesn't do anything to the link you post, so I have no idea why the amazon link is not showing.

A link to a relevant post please
