Please let me know if you install it, and it works as it should. :) And any coding advice appreciated if you look over the code.

Extension Name:
Unread Post Banner.

Extension Description:
Adds a banner to Unread posts when viewing topics.

Features:
  • Nothing exciting to speak of.
Demo URL:

User: Test
Pass: testing

Extension Download:
http://www.testphpbb.co.uk

Install instructions:
Download and extract the zip folder.
Upload the 'volksdevil' folder to your boards 'ext' folder so that you have:
YOUR_BOARD_ROOT/ext/volksdevil/unreadpostbanner
Navigate to the 'customise' tab and enable the 'Unread Post Banner' extension.

I'd put the lable before the first unread post and not within it.

I would suggest that the banner is red rather than green - green usually means something is OK (in this case read) whereas red means that there is something wrong (not read)

Please grab the latest upload.

Updated to convert all coding to correct [EOL] End of line etc.
Same version number of extension. :)

Disable extension in ACP.
Delete the extensions files.
Upload new ones.
Enable extension.

the extension is a nice idea
I have a suggestion
on the main index page if you could make a banner that states there are unread posts
and if you click on the banner it brings you to a list of the unread posts.

I could possibly do that, can't confirm just yet as I'm very new to extension coding...I like the simple little tweaks that improve usability. Will maybe have a look when I can...
Edit: In fact there is my Activity Buttons Extension which may be of interest, it places buttons (Inc Unread) in the header of the site.

I've just lost my own site after a DDOS attack, devastated. :cry: so can't do anything just yet.
