I may be wrong about this but I don't think that having a user install anything from the command line is acceptable for an extension. There will be many users who do not even know what the "command line" is - let alone how to access it!

I now no longer support any of my extensions but they will start to become available here

Thank you guys for your interest.

I have updated the site to point to the correct demo.

@Sippan: I have a separate branch that is 3.2/3.3 ready

@david63: I did not want to release anything. I have submitted the extension for validation and was only offering the git and command line options for anyone wanting to install a dev build and contribute to the project if they so choose. If you all think I ought to provide an unapproved version for download, I can do that too but that would not be my preference

and will you change the installation method after validation, so that normal user can use this extension, too?
My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.

The git and command line stuff is how you get the extension before validation. How you install it after you have uploaded it into the phpBB/ext/ folder is like any other extension.

Here's what I'll do, I'll provide a downloadable version later on today when i get home from work.

so this is basically a portal extension?

and , even for people that want to install the dev version from github, the command line method is way above most people's knowledge level.
it is the first dev extension I have seen at github with command line install instructions.
most of them just tell you to download the zip file and rename the included folder/file names to the proper naming of phpbb extensions and upload it.

I am not even sure why we have to do the renaming procedure. I don't know anything about github but I would think that when you make an extension available there, you could simply change the folder/file names to the proper naming convention before making it available to download.

What were you expecting it to be Robert?

As I've said in my previous post, i will provide a download later today. Let's put this to rest. If you have a question, a suggestion or want to see a certain feature, I'm glad to make it happen as time permits. I make no claims about this extension. There are the features. Call it what you want. Use it if you want.

I meant nothing negative by my question. to me, "sitemaker" is quite different from "portal" . I was expecting something that was going to automate the process of creating a website using the phpbb template system rather than a portal like all the other portals.

sorry for the confusion.

Sorry if i was kind of harsh. I tried to release this before and ended in unnecessary arguments: viewtopic.php?f=501&t=2290191.
It is not just a portal. There are other plans that are in the works but time is limiting.

@Sippan, i will review ams fix as needed

Thanks
