Hi Ed, thanks for your interest. There is a "Can manage blocks" administrative permission that you need to set to be able to manage blocks.

Thanks

I looked at permissions after installing and didn't see anything for it. I'll take another look.

Should I be looking in acp / permissions / group permissions / admin ?

Here is what i have:

Code: Select all

Show bbclone link in the header

Can manage "Did-You-Know?" texts
Can hide online status
Can ignore flood limit
Can search board
Can send emails
Can send instant messages
Can view similar topics
Can use special title
Can view hidden online users
Can view list of all thanks
Can view toplist

Can you make it work with other styles?

@Ed, by default the permission is granted to the Standard Admin role upon install of the extension. This is admin permission and it is under the Misc tab.

@nero, yes it works with other styles. Of course some slight changes may be needed to make it look nice. Take a look at the demo site again. Use the style switcher block to change to a different style.

ok , I am not seeing anything there for it. Maybe i will try a fresh install w/no other extensions and see what happens. I can see a LOT of potential here!

BTW: I'm running 3.1.8 if that makes any difference

@ Blitze

I had a fresh install of phpbb 3.1.7pl and updated to 3.1.8 (like the live and main test board)
And after installing siteMaker it's working great on the first try. So there is something going on with my main test board. All the permissions were set correctly. ( I found the edit block permission )
Anyway I have a working copy now :) Makes me wonder what would happen if I tried on the live board ( Have a TON of extensions on it )

Lumpy Burgertushie wrote:I meant nothing negative by my question. to me, "sitemaker" is quite different from "portal" . I was expecting something that was going to automate the process of creating a website using the phpbb template system rather than a portal like all the other portals.

sorry for the confusion.

robert
I agree with Lumpy here that when I read the title what I expected was probably not what anyone else expected.. I actually thought it would allow users of the forum to create there own.. sub-forum?

But that being said this looks pretty damn cool.

Actually i can not get it running. I always get the error no rights but I have set them for admin role correctly a couple of time's.

I will try to install it a fresh phpbb install and check again. But so far what I have seen, I like it!

I have install it couple of times both local and on host and have never set permission...
and the extension is awsome...so many chooses you have and you only put in what you want
not like a portal there you get some more you don't want ;)
