Hello
The Translater translated the whole probably not right.

Footerlinks also works with phpBB 3.2.0 RC1

Do I understand this correctly in that for this extension to work it is necessary for the user to have to edit styles/prosilver/template/event/overall_footer_after.html in the extension?

If that is true then that is not the correct way for an extension. An extension must be self contained and any configuration that is needed must be done within the extension - usually via the ACP

The problem with the way that you appear to be doing it in this extension is that if there is an update to the extension then the user will loose the data that they have input.

Hello
I know what they mean and they are right.
It will have to be settled sometime in the ACP, but need for some more time.
This is my first ext and php and SQL is still very hard for me to understand.

Detailed instructions for the extension can be found in the Readme.txt and I think that everyone will thus cope.

Hi there. :)

You "extension" as it is right now can not be considered as such but a MODification or an hybrid.
Extensions are meant to be installed without the need to modify any file (ANY). (Self contained).

You are stating you are working on to creating an ACP part for this, welcome then. :)

Something useful and worth reading --> phpBB Development Documentation , feel free to ask for help if you need it to be here at the extension writers forum.

If you feel you need to communicate in German then feel free to PM me (just if you really are in troubles understanding some point written in English!).

On a side note, suggesting to change the development status to DEV instead of RC.

Hello

I'm going to put the extension on DEV back.

It is now working on it that you can enter the links in the ACP.

Since my knowledge are not just big in PHP and SQL, the whole will take a bit.

The current version is fully functional capability you just have to edit the links via FTP.
To ensure that no data is lost in forums crash, is to make to advise to an FTP backup.

It is very nice and I believe there are other extensions in development that require editing the extension style files. I am not sure if it is a requirement for an extension to not need to edit any extension files manually.

either way,
if this extension is just to put menus in the footer, why use an extension at all?

you can create a child style that only has the overall_footer.html file in it and edit that file.
then you simply use that child style instead of prosilver. If you are providing several different styles for your users the menu may or man not even work in other styles so making it an extension may not even work.

luck,
robert

it is not allowed in the cdb, and in general the same rules will applynto extension in development.

Changes:
The color code has been removed from the file footerlinks.css so that the blocks adapt to the respective style.
Code snippets have been removed, which are no longer needed.

In the first post, the description was changed.
