I have updated the extension after review from the validation team. Please download the newest version from github.

Mostly minor stuff. I did drop the announcement function though, it's not very useful and certainly not something that really belongs in such an extension.

Open up ./ext/ger/cmbb/cmbb/driver.php and find on rule 96:

Code: Select all

$query = 'SELECT * FROM ' . $this->article_table . ' WHERE article_id = ' . (int) $find . '"';
Replace with:

Code: Select all

$query = 'SELECT * FROM ' . $this->article_table . ' WHERE article_id = ' . (int) $find;
That should fix it. I've pushed this change to github as well.

Please check/answer the following:
  1. Where did you download the extension?
  2. How did you upload the extension? Is the path ./ext/ger/cmbb/
  3. Have you uploaded it manually or using the (unstable) Upload Extensions extension?
  4. At what point do you get the white screen? During installation, after installation, during usage? Please be exact.
  5. Have you tried purging your cache?
  6. Have you previously installed an earlier version of this extension?
  7. Does the extension show up as installed?
  8. Have you checked your error logs? Please check both the logs in your ACP as well as the main PHP error log on the server
Please share anything else that might be relevant.

So to be clear: you have successfully installed the extension (got the green confirmation message) but you get the error when you go to the ACP extensions tab for cmBB settings?
8. No errors i see.
That's weird. A blank page always indicates an error on the server side. Have you looked in your server's error log (usually available in your host's control panel)?

Hey Ger, this looks great.

Any plans to let users make their own, to be like a blog? Yours seems to be the more fleshed out extension and looks the best.

The error log seems to point to the upload extensions extension, which is still in development for 3.2. Others seem to have similar issues: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... pic/168416
I haven't got any experience with it.

You might want to try this (make sure you follow these steps to the letter):
  1. Disable the extension. If you cannot do this through the ACP, run this query:

    Code: Select all

    UPDATE phpbb_ext
    SET ext_active = 0
    WHERE ext_name= 'ger/cmbb';
  2. Delete data for this extension trough ACP (should always be possible once disabled)
  3. Purge cache in ACP
  4. Upload the latest version of cmBB USING REGULAR FTP FUNCTION to ./ext/ger/cmbb/, double check your path
  5. Install as regular through ACP
This has always worked for me on any board.

Well, you could simply give permissions to any user or group to create articles. Is that what you mean?

I'll need to get on a demo board to see exactly what yours does, but what I mean is that a user could get his own page to submit his own articles rather than users submitting articles to the only one cmbb

Edit: again this is just going off of the screen shots...

I don't really see categories being used. Maybe each user could have a "hidden" cmbb category with their own link?

I cant,

2. Delete data for this extension trough ACP (should always be possible once disabled)

So if i delete it with FTP, and manualy install the DATA is still there :(

You say you can't. Why not? There should be a "delete data" link for each disabled extension.
