[DEV] Avatar Resize

Post by jmzsoftware » Thu Nov 03, 2016 7:43 pm

Extension Name: Avatar Resize
Author: Jmz Software

Extension Description: This extension will resize the uploaded avatar to the dimensions specified in avatar settings in ACP. Does not override the maximum file size. Just the image dimensions.

Extension Version: 1.0.0-dev

Requirements: PHP 5.5+, GD Extension, pull request here https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/pull/4500

Extension Download: https://github.com/JmzSoftware/phpbb_avatarresize

This absolutely requires https://github.com/phpbb/phpbb/pull/4500 commit to be applied and this is why this extension is marked [DEV]

Of course it would be easier.

You can use a different event. Example http://bb3.mobi/forum/viewtopic.php?t=234#p1977
[DEV/Beta] More extensions

Hopefully Google correctly translate my text// I do not support in private messages!

Does this optimizes for size as well? (What is the image quality?)

Without setting to a suitable filesize the extention is nearly useless. Either the users are abel to shrink their avatars in filesize and in image dimension, or they are unable to fit it into both requirements. Thats my experience as admin of a forum with 2500 users.

The extention works properly and it would be nice if you could ad the feature of filesize adaption.

Greetings Bernd
A big thank you to all the people, spending time to keep phpBB running
