So, this ext is just updating the "active"-field in the ext-table with "0" for all extensions?
Like UPDATE phphbb_ext SET ext_active = 0?

How do you install or call this ext if your acp (or complete board) is currently broken by a incompatible ext or a ext in error?
That was my thought as well. Maybe making it as a php file to upload to the root and run it from there might be better?

Either way, a very useful tool
That's already on my local environment in fact. The Tutorial instead is online.
I am fine tuning it in order to select ALL or just some extensions from the available list. It will be ready soon. In case of a dramatic situation I should be able to purge the cache from outside the ACP as well.

I was not meant to hijack your topic David, just a note on a different use case. :)

Mo - that is not going to be an option as in some ways it defeats the object of disabling. If you have a "problem" extensions then re-enabling them all will not help find the problem. Also you may have some disabled extensions that you do not want/need re-enabling.

In my opinion enabling extensions should be done in a "controlled" manner.

I have some normally disabled exensions and after I enable all of them, I would re-disable them. Its less work than activate all of them (I use a lof of extensions) one by one.

Updated to RC3
  • Disable routine updated to disable extensions in a controlled manner to prevent "breaking" a board - thanks to javiexin for pointing this out.
  • Improved error reporting and messaging.
  • Minor bug fixes.

Here is a German translation for 2.1.0-rc3 if someone wish to use it.
Webseite, Blog, Wiki Deutsche Übersetzungen - german language files
My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.
