Re: [ALPHA] Simple RSS post bot

That's a bug as it is, which I have fixed now. Checkout latest version on Github.

However, this is only the logging of an error that occurs when the extension can't read the contents of the feed URL within the given timeout (default 3 seconds). You should find entries in you boards error log the next time you try to fetch the feeds. You can try to up the timeout of the feed. Keep in mind though that higher timeouts can slow your board down.

Can you give me the feed that causes this error?

Thanks for the quick reply! I actually did not see it in the error log, but seeing as how I only had one feed, it was easy to isolate. The feed was http://floridagators.com/rss.aspx.

I tried with a different feed and it works! Thanks again for working on this!

I haven't thought of that, but how would you want this to work? Usually when you track a feed, you'd want to fetch all items. Just fetching a couple of them seems a bit random to me.
You are right.
it was onlythe forst time when i fetch the feeds, now its ok :)

Yeah, I think I know what caused that. It occurs when you haven't had any feeds added yet and the cron is executed. I've implemented a check for this alongside some other fixed. I advise you to update to the latest version from Github.

Could you please make this work also for phpBB 3.1.10? It look like that the php Version is the Problem. Under php 7 it works fine... but phpBB 3.1.x does not Support php 7.

Feed add in ACP under 3.1.10 leads to nothing happen. :(

Did you choose a forum to let the bot post in? And have you checked your error log for possible timeouts?

It was not possible to select, because the settings doesn't appear. I was going on add rss feed, then the system said feed added but when I was going to the overview, the feed was not added. This happend under phpBB 3.1.10.

Under 3.2.0 (my sandbox is on that version at the moment) everything worked fine. :)

I indeed saw a small glitch in the ACP template file that causes phpBB 3.1 to display incorrectly. I pushed a fix to Github just now.

Haven't tested it further on 3.1 though so you might run into some more trouble.

I am having some trouble with what I believe is character encoding. Is there any way I can strip away the unwanted characters shown in the picture below?

Thanks in advance..

Do you have the most recent version from GitHub installed? I should have fixed this last week.

I'll see what I can do. Like I said, I haven't really paid attention to 3.1 yet. In any case, you shouldn't rely on this since it's only in ALPHA stage. That goes for 3.2 but even more for 3.1.

-Edit-
I see the submit button though, its on the left below the table (previously it was on the right, but I moved it because it was quite close to the remove bottons). You might need to purge your cache.
