Is there way to make a 2 column div in the footer banner to post Twitter feed on one side with graphic button under it. And video embed on other side with a couple buttons under it...and have that banner be responsive?

Message adblockes dominantly on FB

Post by Hartenheer » Sun Sep 03, 2017 5:28 am

The messages that are passed to FB are the warning to turn off the adblocker.
Not a shortened piece of the message itself
What can I do about it?

Yes it already does, or will, have that location.

Absolutely. If you know how to code everything you're asking for, then that code can just be pasted in, and probably with some minor tweaking it can be done. Anything that can be accomplished with HTML and JS can be done. You just gotta know how to code it.

Hi, is this extension can prevent ads to not show on Sign-in, SignUp, Profile and UCP? Because it would be violating Google AdSense terms: https://support.google.com/adsense/answ ... tent_pages

Maybe the archive should have a folders to reflect that then. Me being a plebeian just uploaded the unzipped archive to /ext.
As this extension is marked as being at beta status it is assumed that anybody testing it on a non production machine would know the folder structure for an extension.
I am sorry but some of us are developers in general (Not especially phpBB), trying to quickly setup an extension without having to read the docs to find out which directory structure to use.

Whoops sorry VSE, here is the URL: https://support.google.com/adsense/answ ... tent_pages
Ads on thank you, exit, log in, or error pages

Publishers are not permitted to place ads on any non-content based pages like thank you, error, log in, or exit pages. These are pages that visitors see on a site before potentially leaving the domain or after performing a specific action on the site such as a purchase or download.

Ads that are the main focus on these types of pages can confuse a visitor into thinking that the ads are actual content, so do not place ads on such pages.

We can't do anything about that. This extension accepts any and all ads, custom or from 3rd parties. For now it's up to you tomake sure your ad placement complies with your 3rd party advertisier's policies.

For what it's worth, I've run google ads in the footer of phpBB forums for over a decade and never had a single problem.

If you're that cnverned with it, then use locations like among the posts, since on a forum, that is usally the place where the content is, and Google wants their ads only among the content.

We can't control what Facebook decides to extract from a page, and frankly it's hit-or-miss. Some links might show actual post content, some might show the bullet-list about what permissions you have on a the forum, and some won't show any content other than the site name.

Also with a non-English screnshot, I have no idea what is going on. I posted some links from my forums to FB and could not re-create your reported issue, but did confirm that FB is terrible at extracting content from phpBB forums.

Also it really depends on the style you use (proper HTML5 helps FB to extract the real content) more than anything else.

Javascript - Ad Banner / Slideshow

Post by JGarth » Mon Sep 18, 2017 10:45 pm

I had a simple banner that works on another site. Its just is a simple fade between images. I tried to insert the code and create a banner above the header. But it loads all 4 images instead of fading thru them.

Any ideas? Or is there a better way to accomplish this?

Code:
<center>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jq ... "></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://malsup.github.com/jquery.cycle.all.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.slideshow').cycle({
fx: 'fade' // choose your transition type, ex: fade, scrollUp, shuffle, etc...
});
});
</script>

<div class="slideshow">
<img src="http://i2i-designs.com/Soccer/forum/images/Banner1.jpg" width="875" height="243" />
<img src="http://i2i-designs.com/Soccer/forum/ima ... Banner.jpg" width="875" height="243" />
<img src="http://i2i-designs.com/Soccer/forum/images/Banner2.jpg" width="875" height="243" />
<img src="http://i2i-designs.com/Soccer/forum/ima ... Banner.jpg" width="875" height="243" />
</div><br /></center>

You're missing all the CSS that was related to it.
