That's indeed the purpose of this extension. It was inspired by this idea from SalazarAG.

3.2.3-RC1 has been released. Once updated, the file change as posted in the topic start isn't needed anymore.

Hey.

Everything works but for some odd reason resizing of gif's don't seem to work. The image will resize but is no longer a gif.

Any idea how to fix? I am running on PHP 7

Can you give me an example of both the original as the resized image?

Is ImageMagick enabled?

Hi,
I have tried to upload an avatar with filesize larger than allowed but it blocks me - Does this extension only changes the dimension but not the size?
It seems much less useful this way - if a user knows how to decrease size he most probably can also decrease dimensions...

The filesize shrinks upon resizing the dimensions. The simplest approach is to allow larger avatar filesize (checks happens at a point without an event to hook into) but limit the dimensions.
