Very nice. I'll start charting out where I am ending up.

Thanks for this extension.

I concur with the earlier poster that the value in the option bar makes better sense for the the option's display than the %.

Also instead of the number of votes, it would be nice to have an arithmetic average of all the options.

I request anyone who has managed this to please post the solution. Thanks.

Hi,

Somehow the dutch translation is no fully, here is what needs to be added:
'AP_RUN_POLL' => 'Start peiling',
'AP_RUN_POLL_FOR' => 'voor',
'AP_RUN_POLL_UNTIL' => 'tot',
'AP_RUN_POLL_INDEFINITELY' => 'oneindig',

Also i notice that when a user clicks on vote the screen does not refresh.

Thanks, I'll introduce those changes in the next version, but that would not be enough because after your tip I've found some translations are outdated and only english, spanish, french and russian ones are to the last version of the extension. Dutch translation was made by Beun12 who has been inactive for three years in this forum. :?

Thanks. :D The English version is in the folder ext/wolfsblvt/advancedpolls/language/en. The outdated Dutch version is in the folder "nl" if you want to reuse some phrases of the old translation.

Ok, there are only differences in the advancedpolls.php
These need to be added into the dutch (nl) language:

Code: Select all

'AP_RUN_POLL' => 'Start peiling',
'AP_RUN_POLL_FOR' => 'voor',
'AP_RUN_POLL_UNTIL' => 'tot',
'AP_RUN_POLL_INDEFINITELY' => 'oneindig',
'AP_VOTE_GREATER_THAN_MAXVALUE' => 'U kunt niet meer stemmen geven dan het opgegeven maximum.',

There were also some writing errors in the translation. This is the improved version:

Hi, when you activate the "display voter name" option on the pool, the vote isn't updated. So the user thinks that the pool don't work.

I think the problem is that "public voters mode" use the same interface as the admins, that is, you must click the button (green arrow) to view the voters (pink arrow and below each graphic bar). Otherwise you only see the private mode. Admins always see that button but users only when votes are not hidden. Maybe the prior developers of this extension decided to reuse code.

I have just uploaded this latest version (1.2.3) to my forum which is running phpBB3 version 3.2.7 with the default poll but have not yet enabled it.

If I enable the extension will this affect any currently active polls? Should I therefore wait until the current polls have finished before enabling?

Also, after enabling will it have any effect on the appearance of the finished polls?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It should not have any effect on the previous and current polls. The extension adds new fields to the database for its advanced options and respects the original parameters. Anyway be sure to make a backup of the database before enabling the extension, just to be on the safe side.

Many thanks for your response, jasolo.

I have followed your advice and it works fine. All other polls are OK. Your help is much appreciated.

Hello Members,

Is it possible to use this extension to prevent multiple voting by guests?

This extension tells you the number of votes from guests. I am not sure if that answers your question.
