I have no idea where that error is coming from. I have installed it at leat a dozen times over the weekend without any issues.

I will investigate later.

Weird. Just tried on a fresh install using XAMPP and it still errors out.

Installed it today (Had the RC1 previously installed). I did remove the RC1 a while ago.
When I try to install RC2 the forum comes up with an error (A module already exists: PRIVACY_POLICY)
My forum runs the NL language, but whether I install the NL language in the extension or not, does not make any difference.

Tried to find traces of the old RC1 installation, but could not find any on filesystem and SQL. My PHPBB version is 3.2.1

I suspect a known issue with module management in migrations: https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-15595 and https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-15544

Just delete the PRIVACY_POLICY in acp module management before installing the new version.

It may be a contributing factor but that is not the cause of the main problem - it is something to do with adding the UPC module

Updated to RC3

Migration bug fixed (eventually)

The only change is that in the UCP the user's privacy data is now on its own tab whereas it was previously on the Profile tab

=================================================================

To install this version:

Disable RC1/RC2
Delete data for RC1/RC2
Delete all the files via FTP
Upload the files for RC3
Enable RC3

Note: you MUST follow the instructions above otherwise you run the risk of "breaking" your board.

Deleting data for rc1/rc2 is deleting data like "The date/time of the acceptance is logged in the database"?

I tried RC3, but I got the following error:

Something went wrong during the request and an exception was thrown. The changes made before the error occurred were reversed to the best of our abilities, but you should check the board for errors.

A module already exists: PRIVACY_POLICY

Probably yes. It is just a RC version, so You should not run it on production server. But it is not a problem for testing only.
Sorry my english. I hope You understand what I mean.

I'm testing this here https://www.cookiebot.com/en/ to see if this ext complies with GDPR just waiting for the results now.

I don't think to store my domains data on an Ireland server will increase my data protection ... :D
Webseite, Blog, Wiki Deutsche Übersetzungen - german language files
My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.

I used this tool. Checks whether the website saves your own and external cookies. And some more tests. Nothing special. Then they send an email report with an offer of 29EUR / month.
Sorry my english. I hope You understand what I mean.

I updated to RC3.
Every-time when I go to my "portal" page I need to accept the terms over and over again. (Board3 portal)

The terms are also not showing everything. It starts with:
" In addition to the above .. " But there is nothing above, the above text is missing.

There also seems to be a "cache" problem, when I disable the ext and delete data, then go back to my homepage I see: This page doesn't exist. My homepage redirects to https://www.muziekpromo.net/privacypolicy/policy instead of https://www.muziekpromo.net. I needed to clear my whole browser cache to fix it.

A module already exists: PRIVACY_POLICY
Deleting the related entries in the MODULES database table fixes this issue. I encountered the same issue and was only able to fix it this way.
Now the RC3 works fine.
