David63 many thanks for this useful extension.

Before reporting a bug with link removal function, I want to update to latest version to see if it has been fixed.

How to update from 2.1.0-rc5 to 2.1.0-rc6? Simply replace ext/david63/privacypolicy/ with new version?

in ACP: disable extension, replace files (FTP), clear cache, enable extension, clear cache again

There is no need whatsoever to clear the cache manually when updating an extension - purging the cache is done automatically as part of the extension process

I have had occasions where I would get Twig errors if I didn't clear the cache.

Updated easily, I forgot to disable extension before replacing files so I had blank page and php errors. Clearing cache manually solved the problem.

Hi

So by having this enabled - my forum is compliant with GDPR, depending on any relevant wording changes?

Or, are there any other steps as a forum owner that I will need to follow? I notice a lot of forums, including this one, that don't have anything this significant for GDPR compliancy.

Great extension BTW!

Cheers,
Ross

That is your responsibility as a board owner to establish, as with all other relevant legislation for your country.

All this does is to provide a tool which may help in complying with the GDPR legislation.

Not all boards are within the jurisdiction of GDPR and/or do not have data that is relevant to GDPR.

All board owners have to make their own judgements as to what needs to be done.

Yes - I am in the middle of reorganising things, they will all be back up later in the week (although they will be different urls)

In any case, the data protection regulation must contain everything that is used and offered as well as needed in the forum.
For example, I read on a legal page that you are considered commercial as soon as you insert test reports or link to this in your forum. Why in this case, then in the data protection regulation should definitely follow a notice in this regard. That this is a non-profit forum, that the test reports only serve for comparison and information for the members, so that they don't have to search the Internet for long and you don't get any commissions, discounts etc. from the various companies.
In any case, it is better to cover all possibilities.
The regulations seem to be quite different in some countries.

In the Extensions are the conditions normally occurring available in a forum . If the content of a forum deviates from the mass, you have to make adjustments yourself as a forum operator.

Hallo David,

i have downloaded the latest version, installed it on a new phpbb Forum (3.2.2) but the configuration page has only the header.
There were no configuration options.

Could the php Version be a problem?

PHP version:
7.2.15
Board version:
3.2.2

How can i solve this problem??

Thanks
I have the same problem too after clearing cache multiple times. I'm using the latest version from GitHub since the link in the first post is broken.

PHPBB: 3.2.7
PHP: 7.2.18

If you have installed the Cookie Policy extension then that must be disabled and its data deleted before installing this extension
What data?

The extension page is blank in 3.2.7 how do i disable it?
