Is there a way to also auto reply if topic requires approval from a moderator or admin?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

No it doesn't work on topics or posts that require admin or moderator approval.

It works if I do a post, but new users require approval and that is when it doesn't work

I have permission sets for new users to require them to post and a new user forum

You were right, the topic id was empty in that case. Didn't expect that to be different. :?

Pushed a fix to Github just now.

It works now, but now the bbcode I put in the automatic reply is not working now... Curious...? It was working before the change...

Ok, so I see now the basic bbcode it works but it doesn't work for bbcode with admin permissions..

Edit:
Yep, I added permissions to that bbcode to all user groups instead of just admin user I'm using for the auto reply...

Ger,
Anyway to allow Auto reply to use bbcode using the permissions of the user ID completing post
Thanks in advance for a reply.

Got your PM (and thanks for donation), but still can't see the topic you linked to.

Anyway, usually BBcodes have no admin permissions so I don't take permissions into account at all; the active users' permissions are used. You probably have some extension for posting installed (advanced BBcode I guess) that handles this.
I need to think about if I want to support this and then how. I would need to juggle with permissions to achieve this but you definitely don't want a regular user to acquire admin permissions. Note that the autoreply content can also partly be influenced by the posting user through the placeholders so IMO if a BBCode is important enough to limit to admins, you simply don't want a mere user to use that - not even through an automated message.

You are welcome. Wish I could give more.... Sorry, I deleted that topic in which the bbcode was not allowed.

I changed the permissions for registered users for that forum only to allow to post without approval. The BBcode permissions can be changed by default and not extension. I allowed the BBcode for all users, and that fixed the issue.

Another question....
In the Admin under "edit bbcode" it says,
Within the HTML replacement you can also use any language string present in your language/ directory like this: {L_<STRINGNAME>} where <STRINGNAME> is the name of the translated string you want to add. For example, {L_WROTE} will be displayed as “wrote” or its translation according to user’s locale.
Is it possible to allow your tokens in the HTML of a custom BBcode?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

No, i don't think so... I simply use the submit_post() function that accepts BBcode. That means BBcode parsing is done after the tokens are replaced. That also allows for BBcode to be used in the autorespond message.

I found a way....

Example:
BBCode usage

Code: Select all

[testbbcode]{SIMPLETEXT}[/testbbcode]
HTML replacement

Code: Select all

<h1 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000; background-color: #ffff00;"><em><strong>{SIMPLETEXT}</strong> </em></span></h1>
Help Line

Code: Select all

[testbbcode]{poster_username}[/testbbcode]
