Re: [3.3][DEV] phpBB Topic/Post Reactions

Aye I've now disabled a few more non-essential extensions:

Live topic update
Poll on Index (which was not in use)
Upcoming Birthday List (turned off)

And the speed is good.

One thing I may do is look for more reactions to see if I can find ones that are smaller in size.

You can set the size in admin, look at the link in the 1st post for screenshots. You can also upload any image and use as you like.

I'd missed that size setting, much better........

So back to an earlier question, the indicators on the Reaction, I guess one is the reaction count on the post concerned, but what is the other denoting?

Some suggestions I've thought on that would be great:
  • Make the lines above & below the reaction optional. To me they make the posts more cluttered.
  • Rework the Reactions page so that it looks more like the forum index, or latest topics view, so that it shows the Reaction at the top and a list of the topic below.
  • It'd be cool at the top of the reaction page to have the reactions shown in order like a top 10?
  • It looks like the reaction is tied to the image? It'd be more useful to tie it to the reaction name. That way if you change a 'smile' or 'like' reaction to a different image the 'reaction' record is maintained just shows with the different image. I thought of this change as I looked to switch the images to the darker colour set (as I have a grey-styled forum) and I ended up with two lots of 'like' reactions on the reactions page (coloured and grey). For the moment I removed the grey reactions again as I didn't want two sets of images. That would also give the admin the flexibility in the future to change all the images without messing up historical reactions. I hope that makes sense?
Loving it so far!

They are removed in 0.8.0.

Wait...

I'm currently working on member list page and reactions page ...

I will order reactions used most by count. Good idea.

I will see what I can do.

Is there any way to disable the output information and SQL link at the bottom?

Hi Steve

I've downloaded and uploaded your extension to try it.
But I don't see any topic reaction available on my forum.
I see you said we have to enable it in Permission / Group Permission but I don't find how to do this in the Group Permission page (I am new on phpbb). Could you explain me how to do that ?

Perfect it works now.
Would be great to be able to put "smaller" emoticones. It's too visible now.
