Icon Show as Text?

Post by MapleShilc » Sat Sep 20, 2008 10:37 am

After installing a new style and a few mods (yes the new style got modded according to mods too) now some of my icons does not show up in this style and some show up as text, the edit button does not show up and the area where it should show up can't be licked, the quote button does not show up and the area where it should show up can't be licked, new topic button show up as "post a new topic" in text, reply topic button show up as "write comment" text, any idea where to look at to fix this? because i've checked the template files, they seem to be fine, all the buttons's codes are still there, ex.

Code: Select all

<!-- IF postrow.U_EDIT --><li class="edit-icon"><a href="{postrow.U_EDIT}" title="{L_EDIT_POST}"><span>{L_EDIT_POST}</span></a></li><!-- ENDIF -->
and the imageset still points at the right images. and yes i've tried refresh the imageset, template, and prunge cache

so any idea what do to?

thanks a lot

Without knowing what style it is and what MODs you have installed, it is very difficult to diagnose this without seeing the code. So to start, can you please fill out the Support Request Template for version 3?

Well, if you didn't test after every MOD install, all I can suggest is that you replace your pre-modded backup files one at a time,one MOD at a time, starting with the template files, until the issue resolves and then check your edits to that file(s).

When I go to your forum, I see nothing but the header image.
If I had to guess at your problem, I would say you didnt install the images for the language you are using. Are you using the en_us language or the default en gb?

OK... I managed to open it in Firefox. It still has a blank page in IExplore-7.

Here is your problem:

Code: Select all

/* Set big button dimensions */
.buttons div.reply-icon		{ width: px; height: px; }
.buttons div.post-icon		{ width: px; height: px; }
.buttons div.locked-icon	{ width: px; height: px; }
.buttons div.pmreply-icon	{ width: px; height: px; }
.buttons div.newpm-icon		{ width: px; height: px; }
.buttons div.forwardpm-icon	{ width: px; height: px; }

Code: Select all

/* Big button images */
.reply-icon span	{ background-image: url(""); }
.post-icon span		{ background-image: url(""); }
.locked-icon span	{ background-image: url(""); }
.pmreply-icon span	{ background-image: url("") ;}
.newpm-icon span 	{ background-image: url("") ;}
.forwardpm-icon span	{ background-image: url("") ;}
Try refreshing your imageset in ACP/Styles/Imagesets.

I see what the problem is now.
For some reason, your imageset/prosilver_se/en/imageset.cfg is identical to your imageset/prosilver_se/imageset.cfg. It should have the info for the few images that are in that language folder.
