Permissions registered users problem

Post by auxillary » Tue Oct 07, 2008 9:19 am

We just moved to phpBB3. Now we noticed that a 'normal' registered user can't edit their own posts. Plus if he/she wants to quote a previous post the results aren't rendered, which means it is displayed as follows:

[q uo te="bambamstudio"][q uote="dione"]TEXT HERE[/qu ote]Gefixed[/q uo te]

Instead of a nice quote box!

I know it has to do with permission settings but they are all set as it should be, via the ACP. Just can't figure out what is wrong here...

Any idea's?

p.s. Had to put spaces in the quote text to show how it is displayed. In this forum it rendered correctly, hehehe.

Start by using the permissions masks to trace forum permissions for a specific user to find out where the forum permissions are being denied :) This should help you in getting the users to be able to edit their own posts.

AS for the quote issue, are users able to use other bbcodes or is it just the quote one giving you the issue?
