Downgrading backup (3.0 -> 2.0)

Post by chainprayer »

Hi there!

I had a site running phpBB 3.0. I have now switched servers and am using phpNuke, which comes with phpBB 2.0. Is it possible to use my SQL backup to restore my site in 2.0? I know I may loose some info... I mostly want the users and the posts.

Thanks!

There is no downgrader provided and, as far as I am aware, one has not been made. As the schemas are completely different, you cannot simply drag and drop, so you would have to write one on your own.

besides which, the database structure for NUKE's version of phpbb is different from the standard version found here anyway.

Yes, unless you opt to write such a tool on your own.
