Won't stay logged in!

Post by AndyWhyteUK »

I've just setup a PHPBB3 forum and it won't keep me or any of the users logged in.
I log in, and it will re-load the page, but if I so much as re-fresh the page it will re-fresh with me logged out!

It is on a single domain, but hosted on web space with 2 other PHPBB2 forums although they're filed seperately.

I've tried playing around with the cookie setting and am having no luck!

Plx help before I pull my hair out! :?

phpmyadmin is a tool that your host probably has installed for you to use to access and maintain your databases.

if not phpmyadmin, then it will be some other tool.

you should have a hosting control panel of some sort, and the database access/tools can be found in there.

Hi thanks Robert,

Still not working.
I've discovered if I go through the main web hosting source URL from my hosting the cookies work fine.
But if I go on the domain name i've forward to that soruce that is when the problems arise!

Really pulling my hair out at this! :(

Also, am I missing a trick or something.
I'm editing Google ads into my style layout. But when I upload the changed file I overwrite the old one but nothing shows!
For example one of the styles i've used has 'Place ads, announcements, or anything else here.' i've deleted that and replaced it with the source for a google ad. But yet even though in the file where the source is put there is no trace of 'Place ads, announcements, or anything else here.' on the actual page it's still there, and there is no google ad.
I've tried re-loading the style, reactivating it, deleting it and re-uploading it.. Nothing has worked!

Am I cursed!?

Are you cursed!? Probably, we all are

Have you refreshed your style in the ACP?

You may even need to clear the cache as well.

If you are redirecting from one location to another, you will never get it to work correctly.

phpbb has to know where it is installed, not where you wish it was installed.

put in the correct info for where the files are actually located.
stop doing the redirect and only access your board using the url where it is really installed.

I'm having the same problem. I am using a fresh install of phpBB3. I've followed all the steps as listed in the link above but I am still unable to successfully remain logged in. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My forum is now doing the exact same thing

http://www.gamingallnight.com/forums/

I can't figure it out, I changed up all the cookie information to follow the exact format. Then it worked for like a little, then later today when trying it again it went back to logging me off upon login.

EDIT: weird, I tried with IE and it works fine and logs me in, I try with FireFox (which I have been using) and that is where I run into problems.
