Updating to new release "Please help"

Post by JezUK1 »

I'm a currently upgrading to the latest release of PHPbb.
Im upgrading from 3.0.2 to 3.0.3.

But my problem is this:- I had got down to the very last step of the automatic upgrade / update "Check files" It shows me files already updated in a nice long list. Under that I see this:-

I clicked on Merge modifications and then went to "FTP Uploade" and filled in all the detail and it absolutely uploaded just fine. It then goes on to "Collecting file differences" but then he goes horribly wrong. It simply takes me back to the original page (see image) which I showed you.

Im stuck in a loop like Groundhog Day :? I tried just to download it which I did without a hitch and I can't seem to move so I can complete the update.

Can any of you kind people can help me out? Many thanks

Try doing the changed files only method, if you havent many or any Mods, then update database, Ive never got the first updater to work and have always used this method for the earlier 2 updates

Yep, had the same issue. Seemed the memberlist.php file would never show as updated no matter how many times I uploaded the merged file.

I saw the same thing, tried several times, so I uploaded a vanilla file, then it passed updating. After update completed, I uploaded merged memberlist.php file to overwrite the vanilla one.
I abandoned all of my mods.
