Fatal error: ./../cache/ is NOT writable

Post by Hathaway »

Your board's URL: http://forum.ufplanets.com
Version of phpBB3: 3.0.3
Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)? Upgrade from 3.0.0
MODs you have installed: Snowstorm mod (just installed and not relevant to this problem)
When the problem started: After moving server hosts
Your level of expertise (be honest): Fairly low

Fatal error: ./cache/ is NOT writable. in /home/ufplanet/public_html/forum/includes/acm/acm_file.php on line 103

This is the error message I'm getting at the bottom of the forum. I figured this issue was one of permissions, so I set the includes folder and all subfolders and files to 777 via FTP, but it hasn't resolved the issue.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

It does not tell you to set permissions of includes to 777. It tells you to set permissions of cache to 777.

See the Knowledge Base article: http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/phpbb3- ... rmissions/

I have a "cache-NEW" and a "cache-old" folder in my root forum folder. Both of these are set to 777 already.

Then you have something wrong, since it is looking for ./cache/
Did somebody manually rename folders?

....but it's looking, specifically, for a folder called cache.

I moved server hosts and they restored the forum for me so I presume it was probably them, no one else has touched it and it wasn't showing this issue before.

EDIT: with my knowledge of phpBB, I assumed "cache" could be anywhere, note my low experience level ^^ lol.

You could copy the cache folder from the 3.0.3 package to your site. And take care it has permissions 777.

It should contain index.html and .htaccess
