I don't see how links will make any difference. The issue is that the restore DB function isn't working.
It is not restoring the DB from the 2.0.6 to 2.0.23 having the links to the sites doesn't help that at all.

I think they would like to look at your boards and see if anything jumps out at them.

But let me ask another question ... don't you have the source to your 2.0.6 board? Why not just re-install that? Or am I missing something?

I don't have the 2.06 source, but even if I did, the code is buggy & has all kinds of security issues.

So the question remains. Why would it not want to restore the SQL db. I copied the DB as an SQL file from the server.

You haven't said what 'isn't working' about it.

Have you tried using bigdump.php to restore it?

So what? You're going to run it for half an hour, tops, and you're going to run it closed anyways so people can't sign on and change the database while you're upgrading.

Never heard of bigdump.php.

What isn't working is going into the control panel, selecting DB restore, I browse to the file. It says restoring don't close the window, it could take some time DB is only 15MB I am on broadband so I figure worst case is 20 minutes.. Ok, I leave it open & work in another app. Come back no change, leave it for 3 hours, no change. leave it overnight. No change.

So the database restore isn't working. No error message at all. Nothing it never does anything past the point of clicking restore & it says restoring...

The admin panel one is only good for about 2megs. Download bigdump and restore it with that. Or break the tables up in a text editor and add them each as separate SQL queries in phpmyadmin.

Thanks,

That makes sense. It just times out & doesn't get it imported. I will try bigdump & see what happens.
