I just installed chinese (traditional) and did not have a problem. After uploading the new files did you purge the cache/refresh the template?

i've also installed the chinese language pack and Anti-bot question + rollover text MOD in my friend phpbb3 forum and work very well ... so i don't know why i would have this problem. The only difference is i installed one more MOD, that 's '"NV advanced last topic titles' MOD", still checking whether this MOD create this problem ... :cry:

Isn't it ONLY the file ucp_register.php would create this problem ?

did your forum also install "'NV advanced last topic titles' Version 1.2.8" MOD ? would the index.php in "install" folder create my problem ? i mean after i ran this file :? ... u know even after i replace the ucp_register.php with the original one, my problem still exists ... so i don't think it's related to this file ...

Yes, I have that mod installed on my forum.

i solved my problem by deleting the "red" words on line 72 file of ucp_register.php ... hope it won't create another problem ..

:?

Lines 57 - 80 of a vanilla (ie unmodified ucp_register.php) are these

Code: Select all

		if ($change_lang || $user_lang != $config['default_lang'])
		{
			$use_lang = ($change_lang) ? basename($change_lang) : basename($user_lang);

			if (file_exists($user->lang_path . $use_lang . '/'))
			{
				if ($change_lang)
				{
					$submit = false;

					// Setting back agreed to let the user view the agreement in his/her language
					$agreed = (empty($_GET['change_lang'])) ? 0 : $agreed;
				}

				$user->lang_name = $lang = $use_lang;
				$user->lang = array();
				$user->add_lang(array('common', 'ucp'));
			}
			else
			{
				$change_lang = '';
				$user_lang = $user->lang_name;
			}
		}
I guess you chose to not compare your ucp_register.php file to a new one as I stated earlier in this topic?

Glad you got it fixed none the less.

Hello all, better late than never...i have had the same problem only in my case it was
General Error
Language file ./language/de/de/common.php couldn't be opened.
But i just fixed it by uploading the original session.php and now everything works fine again :D

Greetings,
Martin

edit: forget it, then other trouble starts with calling the memberlist e.g.
Fatal error: Call to undefined method user::lang()
But it must be something about the session.php then :oops:
