Prune users times out

Post by Interlog »

We are trying to prune users that haven't visited before 2008-01-01 through the ACP. Unfortunately the query it is running appears to be timing out (eg it shows a white page).

Current number of members: 52263
Users that apply to the above mentioned criteria: 21130

website as per my signature.

Any help?

Well that is a pretty big query you're running there. No wonder it times out. You can try to do it in two or three steps to lighten the load. Or you can run it locally and give php and MySQL a whole lot of memory and let them run.

Your suggestion makes sense, let me try it locally and I get back to you.

Incidentally,

Would it be prudent for me to report this as a bug? Perhaps it needs to be recoded so it executes this query in stages?
