Replacing the Captcha

Post by 44UDTEZK »

Recently bots have been able to get past the GD captcha that comes with phpBB. Can anyone tell me how to replace the captcha with something more difficult? And maybe how to add more validation to prevent these bots from submitting registrations?

The bots are submitting registrations that have invalid email addresses. Recently I have been seeing about 10 per day. I only wish my real forum users were as active as the bots :(

Have you ever used something like a "VIP code"? I'm not sure what the mod for it in phpbb3 is called, same or different.
