The importing of the old database will be done from within phpbb3 itself right?nelsaidi wrote:Open 'config.php' in your forum directory, and edit the Database details to match your new ones, make sure you then import the old database/backup of it. What that error is saying is it cannot connect to the database with the user credentials supplied.
I'm new to all this. Where do I access the phpMyAdmin. Is that just the admin panel within phpbb3?COD3M4ST3R-X wrote:Read this:Moving Your phpBB3 Forum To A New Host Using phpMyAdmin.
I looked on the thing and it says do it through phpMyAdmin or whatever. I don't know how to do that. I don't even know where to go for that. I've never moved a forums. This is driving me crazy.COD3M4ST3R-X wrote:Have you imported the database from your old host to new one?
I don't know how to back it up. I don't know how to get into that phpmyadmin thing. I did a backup via the phpbb3 admin panel. I don't know if that is what you guys were talking about. It's about 5 MB.narqelion wrote:How big is your database backup file? (in MB)
well my current host is lunarpages. They are the ones I'm leaving. I've looked through the cPanel and didn't see the phpMyAdmin stuff. Anyone know if it comes with it? Also if not does it come with something just as capable? Or do I need to intstall it?stevemaury wrote:You have to get the database on the new host and that won't do it.
