Username Length Limit

Post by robdocmagic » Wed Mar 04, 2009 7:52 pm

Hi,

On our boards we have the usernames to be Firstname.Lastname. There are a few instances where people have hyphenated last names and it exceeds the limit.

1) Is there a setting in the ACP so I can make the limit longer?
2) If no to (1) can I just increase the size in the DB and change the code that checks for the length? Or are there other reasons that the size of the username needs to be limited to 20?

Thanks!

Go to the ACP, click the "User registration settings" link on the left side panel under "Board configuration", then you will see a field labeled "Username length". You can edit that field to your liking.
