Post restrictions/1 post per day for certain users

Post by Beyonce053 » Thu Mar 12, 2009 4:01 pm

Hi all!

Is there a way in php 3.0.2. to restrict users to a certain amount of posts per day to prevent them from 'taking over' the board?
I've studied my admin panel but couldn't find anything.

The Flood Interval in Post settings will take a value up to 99999 seconds. Give that a try.

No there is not. You would need a MOD for that maybe like this one: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=1402565 Do not that it is beta status.

Also the latest version is 3.0.4 so you should update before doing anything else.

Yeah but once I set it to say, 80,000 seconds, doesn't that mean that it goes for all users?

Also, that new BETA-mod posted above, has anyone have experience with it?

Yes, it would affect all users. You didn't say you wanted it to apply to just some users.

What you could do with that user is put them on post moderation and tell them in advance that only one post a day will be approved.

Sounds great for the time being. How do I set this?

I'm having trouble finding this post moderation feature in my ACP...

Do you have more than one user you want to apply this to? If so then creating a group to put them in would be simpler.

Maybe that would be easier, yes.
Still, how do I set this?

First create a new group and add the members you want to be in there. Then go to Groups forum pemissions and select the group you just created and then the forum or forums that you want to moderate them in, if all just select "all" at the bottom. Then in the drop down box next to each of the listed forums select "On Moderation Queue".
