Have you installed any MODs recently?

Also, people will be more able to help you if you could fill this out:

http://www.phpbb.com/support/srt/
The box said 'You need Windows XP or better' .... so I installed linux.

As Drugs asked, "Have you installed any MODs recently?"

This will be a mistake while adding a MOD. YOu now have two files on your web server with the same function in them, so we need to know what was the most recent change you made.
The Knowledge Base contains solutions to many common problems!
How to fix "Doesn't have a default value" and "Incorrect string value: xxx for column 'post_text' " errors.
How to do a clean re-install of the latest phpBB3 version.

HOW did they "try to uninstall it" ?

You really cannot have two people able to make changes to your board at once. ONE person should be nominated to make all changes, or you will continually break it.

AutoMod is in a BETA state and should not be used on a live board.
