You would need to get this information from your host.

So there's no place in phpbb where the root path is defined?

I'm sorry. Maybe I'm asking wrong. I'm a little frantic this morning. I have a huge day ahead of me. My teenager is yelling, my infant is crying, my forum is down. I just need to know where it is defined in phpBB so I can change one little thing and get things back on.

Since this is a 'host installed board' you should contact them.

The error your board is currently displaying is:

Code: Select all

Warning: require(./config.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/brushwood/thegardenforums.org/common.php on line 127

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required './config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/brushwood/thegardenforums.org/common.php on line 127
This has nothing to do with "root paths". It simply means your config.php has the wrong CHMOD permissions set.
Use your FTP program to change them to 644 as described in this article:
Knowledge Base - phpBB3 Chmod Permissions

(If this was a host install, and they did the upgrade, then they should have set the permissions correctly too. I'd be complaining to them that THEY broke it.)
The Knowledge Base contains solutions to many common problems!
How to fix "Doesn't have a default value" and "Incorrect string value: xxx for column 'post_text' " errors.
How to do a clean re-install of the latest phpBB3 version.

Thanks!!! I'm back up. It's Dreamhost and they moved me to their new PS. They told me I needed to remove the user name from the path in the happy announcement that I'd been "successfully" moved over to PS. I'm setting permissions on all of my other sites now. Working like a charm so far. Thank you so much!
