SQL Database Upgrade

Post by pauls115pdtdi »

Hi All,

I've just changed from a mysql4 database up to a mysql5 database.
I created a new database, exported my mysql4 and re-imported into mysql5. I've then changed my config.php file to reflect the new database name, but I'm now getting this message:

Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: dbal_mysql4 in /homepages/40/d230683090/htdocs/uk-vws/Forum/common.php on line 207

I've had a look at the line in question, and it's this:
$db = new $sql_db();

Any idea what I need to change or what could be causing this?
Is there a database upgrade mod that I need to run to get the database working again?

Thanks
Paul

Code: Select all

<?php
// phpBB 3.0.x auto-generated configuration file
// Do not change anything in this file!
$dbms = 'mysql4';
$dbhost = 'localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock';
$dbport = '';
$dbname = 'db282988397';
$dbuser = 'dbo282988397';
$dbpasswd = 'Password here';
$table_prefix = 'phpbb_';
$acm_type = 'file';
$load_extensions = '';

@define('PHPBB_INSTALLED', true);
// @define('DEBUG', true);
// @define('DEBUG_EXTRA', true);
?>

Change this to just "mysql"
See: Knowledge Base - Rebuilding Your config.php File for the acceptable options.

Edit: sorry, "mysql4" should work, but it's worth trying just "mysql" anyway.

I've done that, but now I get this message:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table 'db282988397.phpbb_config' doesn't exist [1146]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

I've checked the database, and phpbb_config does exist.

No it doesn't. For MySQL databases you only can use:
  • mysqli
  • mysql
as DBMS.

Are you sure that the database name and table prefix are correct?
