Can't register account!

I tried to register one username in my board:

Linda's

And the same returned this kind of error:

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (utf8_general_ci,COERCIBLE) for operation '=' [1267]

What should I do to fix this? It's only happening with this kind of username.

dont use the apostrophe in usernames. it is apparently not allowed with the character set(s) you are using.

And how can we change that? What kinds of settings are preventing this from working?

I know that phpBB 2 is allowing me to use apostrophe in usernames. Not sure why phpBB 3.04 is not.
