PM Notifications keep getting resent

Hi

I've got a problem a phpBB board I setup for a Freemason's organisation here in Australia:

It has some modifications, but none that should impact on its email functions. The problem is that when using the inbuilt 'mail' function it sends notifications of PMs over and over again, irregardless of whether a user has logged in and read them. I changed the mail settings to specify the host's SMTP server settings as apposed to leaving them blank and it continues to send out massive amounts of emails.

They appear to be sent out in batches of one email per PM received but instead of sending this batch out once, it sends them out again and again.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Well you are running on a Windows 2003 server under IIS so first I would suspect the permissions on the /cache folder are incorrect and the queue.php file is looping because it cannot be deleted. Make sure you have given the IUSR_xxx web user in IIS Full Control of the /cache folder in your phpbb folder.

Cheers for that, yes, I moved the phpBB from a linux server to a windows server and there has been numerous 'undocumented features' since. Will give it a try and in the mean time delete via ftp the queue.php file.
