Moderators

Post by ffucommish »

I tried to make a web partner into a global moderator under user permissions but for some reason he is not showing up on the board as such. How do you make someone a moderator so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong?

I presume he has all the mod rights?

For him to show up as a mod you need to make the mod group the default for that user.

You didn't really explain why you don't think they're now a mod.

Put them in to the global mods group and make that group their default.
You take on the colour of your default group.

Never use User permissions unless you have a VERY good reason. All you have to do is to place the user in the Global Moderator's group and set that as his default group.

ALL user permissions should be No by default.

Add him/er into the Moderator group on your forum, then set there permissions to the permissions
you wish them to have then your done. But make sure that it is their default group.

You can tell if it is default group because if your moderator group colour is say green, their username will be green.

I'm still confused. Everything I do is not working. I'm missing some step.

So I go to Manage Forums correct as step 1?

Then these are my options: which one do I use?

Forum permissions

Forum moderators

Users’ forum permissions

Groups’ forum permissions
