I've been running phpbb for a few months now and I have to say that I'm absolutely delighted with it. It's really good, from install, to upgrade, to backup, to everything! Except one thing:
I've recently created a 'To Do' list for urgent matters for my staff and I'd really like all of us to be able to receive new replies / topics notifications via email - it would also be nice for my clients that use the forum too.
I'm running phpbb ver. 3.0.5 and my mail settings appear to be correct - I can post them all if you need to take a look. I've set the SMTP settings to my personal BT account, and later I changed these to the SMTP settings provided by my hosting company, but neither seem to work.
I occassionally get a message through, but it's never consistent. I know that you need to visit the forum before getting new notifications, so it's not that.
If any of you guys can help, I'd really appreciate it and it would make an excellent forum solution just perfect!
