Need cheat sheet for modifying theme CSS

Post by FORDification »

Has anyone put together a 'cheat sheet' describing what all the elements in the the various theme CSS files handle? What I mean is, if I wanted to adjust the forum header font size and/or color, or the table background colors, etc., where can I find a listing showing what file to look at (stylesheet.css, content.css, common.css, etc.) and what entry in that file to edit? Something that this would sure cut down a LOT of hit-and-miss or trial-and-error to edit a single element.

Thanks!

Thanks for replying, but I was hoping someone had put together a list with some plain-English descriptions of what each entry in each CSS file actually controls. Simply looking at the template file doesn't help me there.

For example, let's say I want to adjust the font size of the topic subject. I can view the 'viewtopic_body.html' and see that this element calls for h3, but with no mention anywhere in that html file of which CSS handles this, I have to keep opening each separate CSS and do a hunt and search.

I was really hoping there was some sort of quick-reference sheet that would at least point me to the right CSS and entry to edit.

Programs such as Crimson Editor (free) can search in multiple files at once. No need to open each file.
