3.0.5 -> 3.0.6 auto update, how long should it take?

Post by MidnightCoder » Sat Nov 28, 2009 10:14 pm

Hi all,

I'm running the auto update from .5 to .6 on a modded board, and it seems to be not doing much of anything. I get to the step where it shows this:
Collecting file differences

Currently differences of 48 of 281 files have been checked.
Please wait until all files are checked.
And it keeps refreshing, but otherwise shows no signs of progress. How long should this phase take? The first attempt I let it run perhaps 30 minutes, and no change. I started over and it's been running for an hour now...

How long should I allow for this process? And what should my next move be if it doesn't work?

I think this updater doesn't work very well. I really wish there were still complete codechanges available, it'd be safer and less problematic in the long run. :?

I found the conflict. Gonna say it loud and clear, cause this may affect quite a few people who use this mod:

Re-enable forum cache before attempting the auto-update - Prime Disable Cache is not compatible with Auto Update.

I noticed one other thing on the next stage:
Merge modifications (Loose modified code within conflicting block)
Loose? Seriously, no spell checker or proof readers?
