debug error when adding moderator

Post by DoYouSpeakWak » Mon Nov 30, 2009 8:51 pm

Hey everybody.

I got this really strange problem with a test site on localhost. When i go to

acp > permissions > forum moderators and write my username in the "add users" box and press "add permissions" i get this error

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acp/auth.php on line 406: Undefined index: 8
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acp/auth.php on line 412: Undefined index: 8
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acp/auth.php on line 406: Undefined index: 9
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/acp/auth.php on line 412: Undefined index: 9
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 150: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3518)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 152: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3518)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 153: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3518)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /adm/index.php on line 154: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3518)
What is the worth part is that my auth.php is a complete match with the original one from the 3.0.6 package. First i did a manual inspection, after that winmerge, both confirmed it, the files match perfect. But if i upload a fresh board without any mods on it this feature works fine. So i have to assume this have something to do with a mod i have installed.

But how do i find out which?

From the file
lines 406 and 412 from auth.php

Code: Select all

			// User is not a member of any group? Bad admin, bad bad admin...
			if ($memberships)
			{
				foreach ($memberships as $row)
				{
					406 >> if ($groups[$row['group_id']]['group_type'] == GROUP_SPECIAL)
					{
						$user_groups_default[$row['user_id']][] = $user->lang['G_' . $groups[$row['group_id']]['group_name']];
					}
					else
					{
					412 >>	$user_groups_custom[$row['user_id']][] = $groups[$row['group_id']]['group_name'];
					}
				}
			}
Apperently im an Bad admin, bad bad admin...

Extra info
btw. i get the same error at acp > permissions > Users’ permissions when i type the name and hit enter.

And if i the two examples above type in test instead of admin(who is a founder) i get

Code: Select all

That is saying you are a member of groups 8 and 9, which do not exist.

Strange since i only have the default groups that are made by the phpbb 3.0.6 installer upon install and none of them have those numbers. highest are 7 which is Newly registered users

Any idea why it want me to be a member of those groups ?

The installer only assigns the founder to groups 2,4,5. Go into phpmyadmin and delete the extra user_group records.

Thanks for the tip. That fixed it for the moment, but new users are still being put in these non-existing groups.

It looks like its the autogroup mod that puts users into these groups instead of assigning them to the right ones.
