New Memebers permission

Hi

I Wounder if someone can help, Is there a way that I can get new members to post something before they can read a paticular forum, this is to minimise people from leeching from my site. I want them to see the category but don't want them to read the forums within the category until they have a minium of 5 posts.

If you have version 3.0.6, just set the Newly registered groups post count to 5 and their read permission to Never in groups forum permisions for that forum(s).

Thanks for the help steve much appreciated finally got it sorted , One question I have is say for newly registered members after 5 posts do those members authomatically become registered members so they can then see the forums I blocked.

Just realised that when a new member joins my forum they are automatically added to the registered user group aswell as the newly registered group, how can I stop that from happening because it lets them see the forums I want to block. Also i have realised that when members in the newly registred group reaches 5 posts they can no longer see the forum board, it comes up with a message saying please login or register to view the forum even though its says they are logged in at the top of the screen.
