hello guys,

I am facing a serious problem with my phpbb3 i am getting this error some time or many time

mysql server has gone away


any one know how to resolve this problem i am very upset from this problem. my one friend told me to do that
Please try using 'mysql_reconnect' command before each MySQL query and it should do the trick.
how to do this i dont know plz help me i will be very thankful

What specific board tasks are you performing when you get the message? i.e. Are you getting it when just browsing your board, when posting, while in the ACP?

You should contact your host if the issues continue as this is not a phpBB error..

yes i have contact my host and they told me that and they ask me that
If you see the error message 'MySQL server has gone away, it might be your script makes heavy queries or too many connections.

Please try using 'mysql_reconnect' command before each MySQL query and it should do the trick.
now i disable facebook connect mod, moderator control panal, user groups, friends and foes and gallery mod
this problem still occurred but now this problem comes after some time when many peoples comes online

Issues like this are common with a free host, seems you get what you pay for.
Suggest you get a real host, cost is minimal.
We cannot really recommend a host, but we do recommend that you visit WebHostingTalk
